After Tim's parents procreated feverishly,
he was welcomed into the world on March 7th. He later moved to Minden,
Nevada, a suburb of Reno, and was bit by the radio bug early. Tim would
call local radio DJ’s “Wild” Bill Shakespeare,
Jay “Dangerboy” Cooper, Matt “Million” Smith
and Johnny B. Tim was hired at age 13 to work at local Gardnerville
station KGVM, hosting the wildly-popular oldies show, "Rock n Roll's
Greatest Hits". Still in high school, he went on to
work at KDOT in Reno and worked with Mike “The Janitor”,
Chris Payne and Jave Patterson. Tim would later land on the station
he grew up listening to, KWNZ, and earn his first full-time job doing
nights and later afternoons on Top 40 KNEV.
Tim left Reno and spent
a semester at Colby Community College in Colby, Kansas and was awarded
2002 College Radio Personality of the Year by the Kansas Association
of Broadcasters for his work on KTCC. Tim is a graduate of the University
of Nevada, Las Vegas with a Communications degree in Broadcast Journalism,
while working at 98.5 KLUC and is now nights and music director at 106.9
KHTT in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His parents live in Sparks, Nevada and wish
Tim would call home more often.
“I wish I could credit
every person who has help made me successful in my career. They know
who they are and I’ll never forget the knowledge and encouragement
that you have given me to make me a better personality and better programmer.” |
